Hosted Electronic Withholding Forms
Preparing employee withholding certificates is a mundane but extremely important requirement for employees to be paid correctly. Wouldn’t it be great if it could be automated…… Symmetry Software’s StateW4.com has the solution!
This web based service allows you to quickly and easily deploy over 100 federal, state and local forms as Employee Self-Service forms. StateW4.com offers a number of advantages over old fashioned, manual processes:
- Reduce your paper handling and error correction labor costs
- Increase Accuracy - Forms all have built-in intelligence, so entries get validated for correctness and the Forms are validated so mandatory information must be included.
- Cut down on extra handling - Conflicting data will not allow the Form to process (example: if an employee selects withholding allowances and also marks that they are Exempt)
- Shrink the number of questions - The Multi-State Wizard helps determine the right forms to prepare, taking into account reciprocity rules, work rules and other criteria.

It’s Easy to deploy StateW4.com for your employees:
- You place a link on your Self-Service page or portal connecting to the special Launch Page built by Symmetry Software.
- The employee clicks on the link to prepare their withholding form.
- The Multi-State Wizard helps them to pick the proper Forms.
- The Forms are displayed in the browser using Adobe Reader where the employee fills in their information.
- The Results can be handled in a number of ways:
- The employee prints, signs and mails for processing
- The forms and data are encrypted and emailed to payroll department
- The forms and data are posted to a designated server location at your company
